Here we introduce the New Optimist workshop series. Explore what it means to make a garment. Our mission is to work towards a circular, social and local future of fashion, so the focus will be on natural and sustainable ways of making clothing.

Roua will introduce you to the making of natural ink and the dyeing process. The workshop puts our second design principle into action “Make products that don’t create waste or pollution.”
This is the theoretical focused workshop of this series. We will start this workshop by talking about the current situation of the fashion industry which is tainted by social & environmental issues. In the second part of this workshop we like to focus on the future. Which is from our perspective a sharp contrast with the existing paradigm.
In this workshop we invite you to bring back the joy of making. Together we design and make a simple garment. However, understanding the process of making a garment, means you understand the work and effort it takes, contesting the ideal of fast and replacable fashion.
